Off the Map (2003), a comedy drama, gives us a decidedly eccentric family in a small town in New Mexico. We watch through the eyes of precocious Bo Groden, a bold, inquisitive 12-year-old girl, the only child of Arlene (Joan Allen), an earthy no-nonsense woman who holds the household together, and Charley (Sam Elliot), a secretive, silent man suffering from unbearable depression. This family literally lives off the map -- no phone, no TV, no significant source of income
During months of Dad's unstoppable crying and a stranger's appearance in their lives Bo is brought to an awakening of how life can be unfair, haphazard, and painfully beautiful all at the same time. We'll see these four people's lives unfold with warmth and joy, love and awe -- knowing that any of us could be anyone of them. The theme: Aren't we all simultaneously ordinary, yet superbly amazing, in our everyday and unpredictable existence.

Co-creating Spiritual Community - First Sundays
The Spiritual Enrichment Center is here to serve you on your spiritual adventure of growth and awakening to your Divine Truth. All who call the SF Spiritual Enrichment Center their spiritual home are invited to participate in the co-creation of the community by joining us for a quarterly Community Visioning, Community Dialogue and Community Potluck Celebration. First Sundays Visioning and Dialogue begin at 12:15PM - Potluck is immediately following Sunday service.
